The trail features exposed ridges, steep climbs, and spectacular panoramic views over Ireland’s highest mountains, making it an exhilarating experience for confident hikers and scramblers. PHYSICAL EFFORT LEVEL: Difficult to Strenuous TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY: Scrambling Level 2 DISTANCE: 16 km ASCEND: 1150 m TIME: 7-8 h The hike takes you through open, untamed terrain, blending sections of farm paths and mountain trails with vast stretches of untouched wilderness. Expect to encounter rocky outcrops, boulder fields, loose scree, wet and muddy patches, trickling streams, grassy slopes, and dense heather.
