Binn Chaonaigh – Mulnahogue is a rewarding hike in the Maumturk Mountains of Connemara, following a high ridge with expansive views across Lough Corrib, the Twelve Bens, and the Atlantic coastline. This route offers a remote mountain experience with amazing views. PHYSICAL EFFORT LEVEL: Difficult to Strenuous TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY: none - but expect steep ascent/descent DISTANCE: 17 km ASCEND: 1300 m TIME: 7-8 h The hike takes you through open, untamed terrain, blending sections of farm paths and mountain trails with vast stretches of untouched wilderness. Expect to encounter rocky outcrops, boulder fields, loose scree, wet and muddy patches, trickling streams, grassy slopes, and dense heather.
