Prepare yourself for one of Ireland’s wildest, most vertiginous adventures: the hike to Croaghaun on Achill Island, where the highest sea cliffs in Ireland await. At 688 m (2,257 ft), these towering cliffs rise straight from the Atlantic, making Croaghaun not just the highest in Ireland, but among the highest in Europe. Beginning at Keem Bay, this strenuous trail climbs steeply through rugged ridges, coastal vistas, and exposed peaks. You’ll traverse the spine of remote northwest Achill, where the ocean crashes below and winds sweep across the broad summit ridge.
